In-Network Insurance Plans
The following plans are accepted for outpatient individual psychotherapy via telehealth across New York State:
- Highmark Blue Shield
- Highmark BCBS of Western New York
- BlueShield of Northeastern New York (BSNENY)
- Aetna
- CDPHP
- MVP Health Care
- Medicare
Out-of-Network Insurance
Out-of-network benefits are accepted. If your plan isn't listed above, your insurer may still reimburse a portion of the session fee after your out-of-network deductible is met. The office handles claim submissions on your behalf. Contact the office to verify your benefits before scheduling. Those using Out-of-Network benefits will be asked to put a card on file for autopay.

Good Faith Estimate Notice
Under the No Surprises Act, individuals who are uninsured or who choose not to use their insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before receiving services. A Good Faith Estimate may be requested by phone or email at any time before scheduling.
How to Verify Your Benefits
Call the Member Services number on the back of your insurance card and ask:
- Is outpatient mental health (psychotherapy) covered under my plan?
- Is Dana Nevedal, PhD in-network under my specific plan?
- Do I have a deductible for mental health services, and has it been met?
- What is my copay or coinsurance per session?
- Is there a session limit per year?

Do you accept Highmark Blue Shield?
Yes. Highmark Blue Shield is accepted as an in-network plan, including Highmark BCBS of Western New York and BlueShield of Northeastern New York (BSNENY). The office bills Highmark directly.
Do you accept Aetna?
Yes. Aetna is accepted in-network for telehealth therapy across New York State. The office submits claims directly to Aetna.
Do you accept CDPHP?
Yes. CDPHP is accepted as an in-network plan. The office handles all billing.
Do you accept MVP Health Care?
Yes. MVP Health Care is accepted in-network.
Do you accept Medicare?
Yes. Medicare Part B is accepted for outpatient psychotherapy. Medicare covers 80% of the approved amount after your Part B deductible. You pay 20% coinsurance. The office bills Medicare directly.
Do you accept out-of-network insurance?
Yes. Many out-of-network plans are accepted. The office submits claims on your behalf. Contact us to confirm your specific plan before scheduling.
Do I need to submit my own claims or superbills?
No. The office handles all claim submissions for both in-network and out-of-network plans. You don't file anything yourself.
What is the self-pay rate?
Intake sessions are $225. Individual therapy sessions are $175. A Good Faith Estimate is provided before services begin.
Do you accept HSA or FSA cards?
Yes. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
